Photos by Drew
Carmen and Maarten’s wedding was an international celebration with friends and family in attendance from all corners of the world. We captured the bridal party getting ready at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Reston, VA. The ceremony was at the beautiful Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the heart of Washington, DC. The weather was absolutely wild with sideways rain and blowing wind. Though, we still were able to have much fun creating some photos around the national mall (see opening photo to this post – made in the midst of a heavy downpour!). The reception was in a great ballroom at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA. Here are a few images from their story:

What wonderful photographs! I especially love the one with the umbrellas (looks like you had a fun photo shoot in the rain) and the one in the car (it really captures a very special moment). I am definitely going to look up His and Her Photography to document my wedding celebration!

Drew – thanks for capturing our wedding and putting up this blog post!
While I think the pictures speak for themselves, I did want to share our further experience with Drew as well.
Despite the fact that we had to plan things from Europe, planning things with Drew went easy. We managed to meet up a couple of times, and dealt with the rest via telephone or e-mail. Drew actively thought along with us during the planning phase and gave some great tips along the way, which helped everything run smoothly. The only thing that didn’t go as planned was the weather, but despite the terrible weather conditions, Drew managed to snap a bunch of great pictures, which are original to say the least.
We were drawn to Drew’s catchphrase “creative storytelling”, and that is exactly what he delivered. If you’re looking for someone to tell the story of your “big day” in pictures, we can highly recommend him.
