Francine and Santiago had an incredible wedding ceremony at sunset on the bluffs of Muir Beach Overlook, high above the deep blue Pacific ocean. The setting was really incredible and allowed the opportunity to do some fun panoramic perspectives. Here are a few images. (more…)

Alfie and Bana had a spectacular fall wedding at the Morais Vineyard in Bealeton, Virginia. Heavy rain throughout most of the day prevented us from doing photos outside at the vineyard, but the energy of the indoor celebration was amazing. The ceremony combined Zoroastrian and Cuban-Catholic traditions and guests were in attendance from all over the world. Here are a few images from their story: (more…)

Ben and Meghan had a beautiful late summer wedding in the mountains of West Virginia. The Elk River Inn is situated in a gorgeous stretch of Appalachia: rolling hills and dense hardwood forests surrounded by ancient mountains and interspersed with small rivers and creeks flowing over exposed sandstone rock. In the shadows of Snowshoe Mountain (4,711 ft) cell phone service was non-existent – and we were all the better for it – with plenty of outdoor adventuring to be had!
At the beginning of the reception Ben, Meghan and their guests observed an Appalachian tradition known as “Bury the Bourbon”. About a month before the wedding, they buried a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon on site at the Elk River Inn. At the start of the reception, they dug up the bottle, opened it and shared the bourbon with all of their guests (see images below). Now, that’s a tradition we can get behind! Here are a selection of images from their wedding story: (more…)
Miki and her Mom were visiting DC from Japan and they hired me to do some photos for them around the US Capitol and surrounding monuments. Miki’s Mom did not speak any english. But at the end of the shoot, she motioned for me to wait for a second. She removed a sheet of green paper from her purse and transformed it into the origami crane pictured below. She handed it to me with a giant smile on her face. I just wanted to share a few images … (more…)

The Chesapeake Bay watershed covers 64,000 square miles and offers a robust 11,500 miles of coastline. It’s also the largest estuary in the United States. For their wedding, Cyrus and Tara found a wonderful stretch of that coastline in southern Maryland near the town of Hollywood. Their wedding was set amidst lush gardens, horse stables, and rolling hills on a small peninsula at Greenwell State Park – where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. We had a great time photographing and here are a collection of images from their story: (more…)

We did a really fun photoshoot recently with Laura and Aaron at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton Regional Park located just on the north side of Silver Spring, MD. It’s a beautiful park with rolling hills, Japanese gardens, hiking paths, a butterfly sanctuary, and some gorgeous flower gardens. We’re very much looking forward to photographing Laura and Aaron’s wedding later this year! Here are a few images from their story: (more…)
